Missions Trip 2023

Three Canadians made a special trip from cold Canada to Kenya in March 2023. None of these men have ever been to a third world country so this was a huge eye-opener for them. We're pleased that they were able to make this trip and to visit with our missions in Kenya - Pastor Kenny, Pastor Duke and Pastor Evan. Please check the ministries of these strong pastors in a land this always in search of help.

Some of the comments we heard from these men include:

"I couldn't believe the need that is there. People are hungry for the Word of the Lord, even while they are hungry in their tummies."

All three of the pastors they met on this trip are excited to be ministering to these people, teaching them the Word of Lord.

"The children were incredible. Everywhere we went the children were the brave ones who came running out to see us. There are so many of them too. So many smiles and laughter when we talked with them, even if they didn't understand our English."

Ministries to the children and orphans are never ending.  Many of these children are orphans as their parents have died due to HIV/AIDS. Some have died due to hardship and dangers in the community. These children still need support and an education.

"Everyone needs something. Some more than others. I saw people sitting outside their homes with nothing to do. Strong healthy young men and women with nothing to motivate them to leave the house.  Work is always in short supply. Yet when you look in their eyes you see a desire to be active and a part of the community."

Unemployment is a big problem in this region. We cannot imagine getting up in the morning and have nothing to do all day. Yet the pressure is on to support their family. Jobs are hard to come by. Some are able to sell things in the markets, but most are always looking for a job, or a means to earn an income. Farming is still an important role in life, even if farming is still a challenge with poor tools and access to seeds and fertilizer and water.

"They need bibles. How can you teach the Word of the Lord when you can't even see it in a bible. "

Just after this trip one of the men made a donation of bibles to the work of Pastor Evan. That was a huge help for them as they teach the Word of the Lord.

The stories go on and on. Here are a few photos from their trip to Kenya.
